Thanksgiving Progress

Thanksgiving 2010 vs 2011

~230 to ~160

Perspective

The scale showed, essentially, no progress this week, although I know otherwise. BUT, I also remembered something I had wanted to mention: my BMI.

Starting BMI: 36.1

Current BMI: 24.7

I’ve gone from obese to now, finally finally, normal weight. NORMAL! I’ve still got more weight to lose for myself, and I know BMI is a very very loose guideline, but it’s still crazy to see that. So awesome.

Tomorrow I’ll be running my first 10k. I’m so excited about it, you have no idea. I signed up to push myself to run further, and it definitely worked. I haven’t always been perfect in training, but I know I’ll be able to finish tomorrow and be proud.

And for some of my family, Thanksgiving will be their first time seeing me in months. The last time many of them saw me was Easter, where I looked like this:

Compared to now, looking like this:

Exciting, right? I had lost 20 pounds at Easter and was upset people didn’t notice - looking at those pictures it’s really no surprise they didn’t. But now, now will be different, and it’ll be great. Can’t wait.

Sometimes I forget that my body is actually changing. That every month it changes more and more - because of the hard work and effort that I am putting in.

These past 9 months haven’t been some miracle cure. They have been hard work, dedication, and perseverance. And if I have the power to make this change, I have the power to make many more.

(Note: Progress pictures from 222 to 160, 62 pound difference)

Awhile ago a coworker of my mom’s gave her some of her old pants. She had heard I was losing weight and figured I could use them. They were all an (Old Navy) size 10 - so, I tried them on the first time just to see. And then again a month later. And then again today. It took about a month and a half, but now they button! Still got some major muffin top, but bro, check it. So proud.

7 Month Progress Pictures

First pictures are at around 222 in March. Second pictures from today, I’m at about 167. So, these show a loss of about 55 pounds. In 7 months.

I’m proud, to say the least. When I look down at my stomach I still don’t love what I see, but when I see these progress pictures and see how far I’ve come - I am so impressed and pleased with myself. It’s taken a lot of hard work, and it’s all paid off.

Back Progress

I never really thought to take pictures of my back at the beginning of my weight loss. Oh, I wish I had. I took one a couple months ago and one a couple days ago… enjoy.
